Aktif Elektroteknik was strengthened with Turkey & Italy partnership in 2008 and started expanding from Turkey to Europe and Far East with completely renewed machinery park, re-designed product range, type test certificates received from international accredited laboratories in accordance with latest standards, internationally recognized quality certificates, experienced technical team and new products developed by Turkish – Italian R&D Team.

M.V. Air Insulated Panels

Utilization compliance of medium voltage panels is defined by IEC 62271-200 standard and medium voltage panel manufacturers are obliged to perform manufacturing in accordance with these standards, and pass routine tests and compulsory type tests as defined by the standard.

Voltage level between 1-52 kVAc voltages is accepted as the Medium Voltage Level according to IEC 62271-200 standard.

Medium Voltage Panels are classified as below according to IEC 62271-200 standard;

  • According to substance providing insulation in MV Panel: Gas / Air / Liquid
  • According to seperation between compartments:
  • PM Partition: Opened accessible sections and voltage bearing sections of the main circuit are separated from each other with earthed metal sections.
  • PI Partition: Opened accessible sections and voltage bearing parts of the main circuit are separated with non-metal insulation materials.
  • Internal arc failure (IAC classification)
  • A: Accessible by only authorized personnel
  • F: Accessible from front side
  • L: Accessible from sides
  • R: Accessible from rear side
  • According to loss of service continuity (LSC-1, LSC2-A, LSC2-B)
  • LSC-1: Busbar, switching element, cable and voltage transformers are located in single compartment in such type MV panels and no intervention can be made by cable and busbar to switching element without interrupting the power. Aktif does not manufacture this type of panels.
  • LSC-2A: Intervention can be made to compartment containing the switching element while busbar section is energized in this type of MV panels.
  • LSC-2B: Intervention can be made to compartment containing the switching element while both cable and busbar section are energized in this type of MV Switchgears.


SME Series Metal Enclosed Switchgears

SME Series Metal Enclosed Switchgears are manufactured up to 40,5 kV voltage level in accordance with IEC 62271-200 standard.

Turkey’s first local Metal Enclosed Switchgears were manufactured in our factory on 1995 and tested in international test laboratories.

Each Switchgear is manufactured from 2 mm steel sheet and painted with electrostatic powder paint in colors suitable with RAL codes

Metal Enclosed Switchgears manufactured by Aktif Elektroteknik are defined with below given features in IEC 62271-200 standard:

  • Air Insulated
  • LSC 2A service continuity
  • PI partition class
  • AFL internal arc classification
  • 3 accessible compartments

a- Low Voltage Compartment

All measurement devices, protection relays, terminal connections, communication devices and other protection and control equipments required to be used in the system are located in this section.

b- Busbar Compartment

Electrolytic copper busbars suitable for rated current, epoxy resin post insulators are contained in this compartment.

c- Switching Equipment Compartment

Switching device, current transformer, voltage transformer, surge arrestor, earthing switch, capacitive voltage divider, cable connection glands are contained in this section.

Mechanical Interlocks SME Series Metal Enclosed Switchgears

Metal Enclosed Modular MV Switchgears are manufactured in accordance with interlocks given in IEC62271-200 in order to maintain the operating safety.

No intervention can be made to load breakers and fused load breakers;

  • When switching compartment door of MV panel is open
  • When the earthing switch is closed.

To disconnector switches within the same circuit with the breaker

  • When switching compartment door of MV panel is open
  • When the circuit breaker is closed
  • When the earthing switch is closed

No intervention can be made to earthing switch when the disconnector switch is closed.

SNC series Metal Clad Switchgears

Metal Switchgears are switching and control panels manufactured in accordance with IEC 62217-200 standards up to 24 kV voltage level. Metal Switchgear is erected type and manufactured from steel plate and contains withdrawable / trolley type circuit breakers, main busbars, earthing busbars, current voltage transformers, protection and control equipments. 

Every MV panel is manufactured from 3 mm steel plate and painted with electrostatic powder paint in colors suitable to RAL codes. 

SNC Type Metal Switchgear has satisfactorily passed tests performed in international and accredited test laboratories in Europe.

Metal Clad Switchgear manufactured by Aktif Elektroteknik is defined with below given features according to IEC 62271-200 standard;

  • Air insulated
  • LSC 2B service continuity
  • PM partition class
  • AFLR class internal arc classification
  • 4 or 5 accessible compartments
  • Opportunity of accessing all compartments from front

Busbar compartment consists of electrolytic copper busbars suitable for rated current, epoxy resin post insulators.

d- Cable Compartment

Switching devices, current transformer, voltage transformer, surge arrestor, earthing switch, capacitive voltage divider, cable connection glands and connection elements are contained in the cable compartment according to project requirement.

e - Optional Withdrawable Voltage Transformer Compartment

Voltage Transformer compartment contains voltage transformers, withdrawable unit, MV fuses performing short circuit protection of voltage transformer.

SMC series Metal Clad Switchgears

Metal Clad Switchgears are switching and control panels manufactured in accordance with IEC 62271-200 standard up to 40,5 kV voltage level. Metal Clad Switchgears are erected type and manufactured from steel plate and contain withdrawable / trolley type circuit breakers, main busbars, earthing busbars, current voltage transformers, protection and control equipments.

Mechanic Locks in SNC & SMC Series Metal Clad Switchgears

Metal Clad Switchgear is manufactured in accordance with locks defined in IEC62271-200 in order to maintain the operation safety.

Below given mechanical interlocks are presented as standard in Metal Clad Panels.

  • Mechanical interlock is available between the card and earth switch. Circuit Breaker cannot be taken to service position while the earth switch is closed.
  • Mechanical interlock is available between the circuit breaker compartment and withdrawable unit. Circuit Breaker door cannot be opened unless breaker is taken to test position and circuit breaker cannot taken to service position unless the circuit breaker door is closed.
  • Mechanical interlock is available in the curtain system opening / closing front of bushings according to test / service position of the circuit breaker unit.
  • Circuit breaker unit cannot be taken to test position unless being fixed to the panel.
  • Circuit breaker door cannot be closed unless low voltage control cable is fixed.
  • Circuit breaker can only be controlled while in test and service position.
  • Earth switch cannot be closed while the circuit breaker is at service position.
