Iskraemeco Mx38y Smart Energy Meter

Iskraemeco Mx38y Smart Energy Meter with PLC Communication- RS485 loop- GPRS communication is designed for smart grid, works with the principle “consume as you paid” and also allows disconnection of energy remotely without going near to the meter if customers don’t pay their bill. Pre-payment method is generally used in shopping malls, residences, and time sharing facilities etc. This design structure of the system makes the consumer always pay their bill on time. Prepaid amounts allows the facility management to purchase electricity at a lower price rate. The other usage method that is mostly preferred by distribution companies is, remote connection and disconnection of consumers who didn’t pay their bill. Energy of the customer who doesn’t pay is automatically disconnected or can be limited so that it energizes only his refrigerator, lighting etc. Iskraemeco Mx38y Smart Energy Meter provides three alternative communication methods. First one is RS485 loop, preferred in shopping malls and residences that is suitable for local communication. Second one is GPRS communication which is mainly preferred by distribution companies, due to installation and ease of operation. GPRS communication network uses the GSM network, and thus can be easily performed at each point where the signal level is sufficient. The last alternative is PLC that communication over energy transmission line. Electricity meters will not need any communication infrastructure after installation on the energy line. Iskraemeco P2LPC data collectors which are mounted to the secondary side of the distribution transformers collect measurement of the meter and transmit measurement data value to the main control center. One of the most important feature of the Iskraemeco Mx38y Smart Energy Meter with PLC Communication- RS485 loop- GPRS communication, is reading other types of mechanical meters like water, calorimeter etc, and transmit their value to the central unit over GPRS or PLC. An electricity meter can read and record up to 4 different mechanical meters and 4 different measurement parameters in 50 m range. As well as measuring energy in two ways, main grid parameters like power, voltage, current can be measured and transferred to central AMR/MDM system for further reporting and analyzing.
