Prepaid System Solutions
Prepaid System Solutions have emerged to eliminate the collection problem. Normally customers pay for the energy consumed during the last billing period. This method is called postpayment or postpaid system. Because the payment takes place after consuming the energy.
Another way to collect money is Prepaid System Solutions. In Prepaid System Solutions, customers first purchase energy. Consumption is done later.
Old generation Prepaid System Solutions are made with cards. For example, customers buy a card of 100 kWh/m³ and insert this card into the meter. In this way, credit loaded meters allow energy flow until the limit is exhausted. Afterwards, customers buy another card or refill the existing card.
As can be seen, the process of refilling the meter with credit is time-consuming and cumbersome. There are also disadvantages such as difficult credit monitoring and unwanted interruptions.
New generation prepaid systems overcome these disadvantages by transferring credits via RS485, Ethernet, GPRS, Radio Frequency or Power Line Communication (PLC).
The meters used in these systems have their own circuit breakers inside them to cut off the energy when the credit runs out, so there is no need for another circuit breaker.
