What is a medium voltage switchgear?
MV Switchgears are designed, manufactured and tested for switching, protection and control purposes in alternating current systems from 1 kV to 52 kV according to the IEC 62271-200 standard and Tedaş MYD. In addition, medium voltage switchgears provide to control an use the energy. MV switchgears are responsible for cutting the current of the system in case of sudden current increase and short circuit.
There are different switchgear types consisting of medium voltage equipment such as circuit breaker, disconnector switch, current & voltage transformer for the incoming, outgoing, transformer supply, measurement requirements of facilities or distribution companies.

Metal Enclosed Switchgears offer fast and safe operation as well as the advantage of being easily integrated into existing systems thanks to their modular structure. It is also preferred because it is more economical than Metal Clad Switchgear type.

MV Metal Clad Switchgears are manufactured up to 40.5 kV, 4000 A, 40 kA/3s electrical values with LSC-2B service continuity, PM partitioning, AFLR internal arc classification, IP 4X protection class, 4/5 independent accessible sections according to IEC 62271-200 standard and TEDAŞ-MYD/95-007.E.
