New Revolution in Gas-insulated Switchgear Technology!
Aktif will first present Dry Air gas insulated Switchgear, AGIS, the World’s first dry air gas technology, to industry at the Hannover Messe on May 30 – June 2.
The SF6 gases used in gas-insulated switchgears for years are the most powerful greenhouse gas that exists. With 23,500 times more harmful than CO2 in terms of global warming impact, annual emissions can be compared to CO2 emissions produced by approximately 100 million cars. It is also a synthetic gas, which makes its deposit in the atmosphere almost irreversible, without effective destruction management. It is considered by the Intergovernmental Climate change Panel (IPCC) as the greenhouse gas, which creates the world’s most carbon footprint.
The AGIS series is climate friendly due to the following characteristics of dry air gas used in switchgear, and they provide all the benefits of GIS.
- it consists of 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen,
- It’s not toxic,
- They do not contain harmful F gases,
- Odorless and colorless,
- It has a non-flammable construction,
- It’s chemically neutralized.
Manufactured according to IEC 62271-200 standard of 36kV, 1250A, 31.5kA/3s. It is compact and does not require maintenance costs. Thanks to the composite materials used in its design, it resists moisture, dust and tropical environments, has a long life and has a very high number of operations. With the cable compartment, current voltage transformers are accessible, easily connected to a digital network with current, voltage, energy measurement and loT integration.
Partial discharges are constantly monitored and temperature increases are quickly detected to detect potential insulation or connection risks due to sensors used. This allows faults to be quickly identified, isolated and corrected before a fault or fire occurs.
