Description

Istanbul’s largest underground investment is Kadıköy – Kartal(M4)  metro line which came in to operation in 2011. In metro line, MV cables cause capacitive reactive power and Aktif Engineering Company was chosen to compensate reactive power which was solved with own design Automatic Shunt Reactor system.  This system commissioned successfully in 2011 which can compensate 2600 kVAr capacitive reactive power in 6 substations.

In 2014, Üsküdar – Ümraniye – Çekmeköy (M5) metro line which was tendered worldwide by The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. This is the second longest metro line in Anatolian side of Istanbul. Procurement notice was published in the EU official website. Leading construction companies from many countries participated in the tender. Doğuş Group offered 563 M€ which won the tender. This project includes 16 substation and 20 km metro line. Metro line is planned to expand through Sultanbeyli and Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Aktif Engineering Company signed contract for compensation of the Üsküdar –Ümraniye-Çekmeköy (M5) metro line which is the second biggest metro application after the Kadıköy-Kartal metro line.  Project includes 3800 kVAr Automatic Shunt Reactor system which compensates according to gathered information of 6 substation’s measurements which have 5 different operation scenarios.
