Description
NOBEL İLAÇ, started its activities in 1964 and continues as one of the leading medicine companies of Turkey. Nobel’s product range both contains medicines developed and produced in its affiliated companies and products being sold with and without prescriptions with licenses and also it has a reputable place among leading medicine exporters of Turkey. Nobel has thousands of employees in a wide geography through its agencies opened in many countries of Asia and Europe and opened its services and services available in Turkey to the international market.
EXPECTATIONS
It is seen that harmonics are out of International and National standards during power quality measurements performed in the busbar which HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) air conditioning system is electrically connected and it is requested to bring harmonic values in system nominal operation into standard values.
APPLICATION
As the result of simulation performed via AVV PQF Size program for the problematic point, it is envisaged that PQFS Series 100 A active filter application is required. Performance results of performed active filter application are given below with comparisons as pre and post application.
- Measurements prior to commissioning of filters on the site are given in Histogram 1 below. While approximately 100 Ampere rms load current is withdrawn from the system, 60% Total current harmonics (THDI) is available. After active filters are commissioned, it is seen that the total current harmonic (THDI) in Histogram 2 is reduced to 5% levels

- Graphic 1 provides 3 phase current change prior to commissioning of active filters. As the result of measurement examinations, the current change containing multiple harmonic components is very far from the sinus form. Three phase current curves became very near to the sinus form. Also, system’s total rms current value has reduced nearly 13% per phase.

- Histogram 3 provides Total voltage harmonic (THDV %) values prior to commissioning of active filters. Histogram 4 provides the total voltage harmonics after commissioning og the active filter. According to measurements, THDV% has reduced from 5,2% to 2,7%.

CONCLUSION
Harmonic problem is occurred due to switching on the semi-conductor bridge available in 6 pulses full wave rectifier located in HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) air conditioning systems at industrial facilities. This power quality problem is solved via 2 pieces of applied 100A rms active filtering. The facility continues to operate within voltage and current harmonics limit values given in international and national standards.
